A flash. A crack. The man looks up. The sky darkens. He runs, a nearby cave offering shelter. It is empty, and then it isn't. He waits, and falls asleep.
He wakes, the rain is still falling, but something else is there... A pair of yellow eyes. They stare at each other. Silent words are spoken. The eyes close and open, then move slowly into the cave. A truce, created.
The man wakes again. The rain is past, but it is now night. The eyes are gone, replaced by heavy breathing. He sleeps again.
He wakes, the sun rising. The cave is empty, save for him. He leaves, but the memories stay.

Trying to fall asleep at 4:50 AM on my first day of college. Turned on a rain video, and this formed.
